YSEALI Call for Young NGO Leader to join YSEALI Regional Workshop : Go NGO in Cebu, Philippines this November 2016.
This is an opportunity for young NGO leaders to advance their professional skills and competencies with the aim to grow, scale, and take the organizations they work for, or those they founded, to new heights.
From developing baseline metrics to creatively pursuing financial and in-kind resources to assertively applying social media to advance mission, this workshop will bring together individuals from across ASEAN to learn and collaborate on ways to build capacity, message, and impact.
Combining training, lectures, simulations, and site visits to NGOs in Cebu, Philippines, this workshop will provide a comprehensive professional overview of what’s necessary to make a difference in ASEAN’s NGO sector in the 2020s. The experience will include pre-workshop virtual exercises, a four-day workshop in Cebu, Philippines, and post-workshop professional development activities that help to grow this rising corps of NGO leaders.
You must be a YSEALI member to apply this opportunity (for information on membership, please visit yseali.state.gov).
You will be asked to complete the application form, upload a copy of the biographic page of your passport, and submit a statement of motivation, an ASEAN citizenship statement, an issue statement, and to identify a professional development opportunity you feel will help you advance the NGO in which you are employed (or which you founded). We recommend you prepare the statements before completing the application (and upload a separate document to the application). You will also need a letter of recommendation from your supervisor or head of the NGO (or, a representative in an NGO who can judge your character, performance, and potential as a leader in the NGO sector).
Preference will be given to applicants from NGOs which address civic engagement, environmental and natural resources management, economic development or education, and to applicants which have not previously participated in YSEALI programs.
Please forward any questions to yseali@culturalvistas.org
