YSEALI Call for Young NGO Leader to join YSEALI Regional Workshop : Go NGO in Cebu, Philippines this November 2016.

This is an opportunity for young NGO leaders to advance their professional skills and competencies with the aim to grow, scale, and take the organizations they work for, or those they founded, to new heights.

From developing baseline metrics to creatively pursuing financial and in-kind resources to assertively applying social media to advance mission, this workshop will bring together individuals from across ASEAN to learn and collaborate on ways to build capacity, message, and impact.

Combining training, lectures, simulations, and site visits to NGOs in Cebu, Philippines, this workshop will provide a comprehensive professional overview of what’s necessary to make a difference in ASEAN’s NGO sector in the 2020s. The experience will include pre-workshop virtual exercises, a four-day workshop in Cebu, Philippines, and post-workshop professional development activities that help to grow this rising corps of NGO leaders.

You will be asked to complete the application form, upload a copy of the biographic page of your passport, and submit a statement of motivation, an ASEAN citizenship statement, an issue statement, and to identify a professional development opportunity you feel will help you advance the NGO in which you are employed (or which you founded). We recommend you prepare the statements before completing the application (and upload a separate document to the application). You will also need a letter of recommendation from your supervisor or head of the NGO (or, a representative in an NGO who can judge your character, performance, and potential as a leader in the NGO sector).
 
Preference will be given to applicants from NGOs which address civic engagement, environmental and natural resources management, economic development or education, and to applicants which have not previously participated in YSEALI programs.

Apply to Become WFUNA Young Leader of the Year 2016

 
WFUNA calls for nominations for young people from the WFUNA Youth Network to be WFUNA Young Leaders of the Year. With this initiative, WFUNA want to highlight the contributions of thousands of young people to our organization and share their achievements with a wider audience. the WFUNA Secretary-General and WFUNA Youth Advisory Council will select three young leaders to be interviewed, the chosen one will be selected as the WFUNA Young Leader of the Year.

Eligibility :
An ideal WFUNA Young Leaders candidate must shows:
  • Inspirational Leadership
  • Grassroots work on the theme of the year
  • Integrity and commitment towards improving the lives of others 
  • Aged between 15-29 years old
  • A member of a United Nations Association or United Nations Youth Association
The WFUNA Young Leader of 2016 focus on Sustainable Development Goal 16 aimed at promoting just, peaceful and inclusive societies. The nominations should working to:
  • Reduce all forms of violence
  • End abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence against and torture of children
  • Promote the rule of law at the national and international levels and ensure equal access to justice for all
  • Reduce corruption and bribery in all their forms
  • Develop effective, accountable and transparent institutions at all levels
  • Ensure responsive, inclusive, participatory and representative decision-making at all levels
  • Ensure public access to information and protect fundamental freedoms
Job Description :
  • If you are selected to be WFUNA Young Leader of The Year, you will :
  • Support WFUNA's work in the UN Working Group on Youth & Peacebuilding
  • Participate in WFUNA’s awareness raising campaigns and advocacy efforts
  • Possibility of engaging in panel discussions, workshops, training sessions facilitated by WFUNA on the implementation of Goal 16
  • Free participation in WFUNA’s programs, such as the Human Rights Youth Training in Geneva, WIMUN 2017, etc.

Apply Now to Participate Youth Time Global Forum 2016 in Indonesia

Youth Time Global Forum 2016 is inviting young people who are currently working as journalist  in national or international media (newspaper, magazine, news agency, TV, radio or news portal) to join Youth Time Global Forum 2016 in Jakarta, Indonesia on November 24-26, 2016.

Youth Time Global Forum 2016 will bring more than 150 participants from all over the world to discuss to solutions for the most prevalent issues. The topic of the annually organized event is related to the location and actuality of the matter. This year, the topic will be "The Interdependence Between Sustainability and Social Entrepreneurship - Creating a sustainable environment for social development."

Young people that are looking for inspiration and people that have innovative ideas on how to tackle the issues related are invited to join this event, to come to a winning solution for change, for the benefit of a more sustainable development of the world. The participants will have chance to win Youth Time’s Idea Grant for the project proposal, get a six month paid internship, and will be offered a six-month free scholarship.


Eligibility:
  • Currently working in national or international media (newspaper, magazine, news agency, TV, radio, or news portal);
  • Journalists from all over the world are welcome to apply;
  • Publish at least one announcement about the Youth Time Global Forum before August 15th and a few articles or posts within two weeks after the event.
  • Significant journalistic experience and deep understanding of current global issues in youth politics and social life;
  • Efficiency, a track record of tolerance, and a readiness for new experiences;
  • Fluent English is a must.
Cost:
The Youth Time Global Forum 2016 will cover all the expense related travel costs, accommodation for two nights, and meals.
